Accountability Isn’t a Four-Letter Word: How to Get Your Team to Do the Things You Wish They Would Do
Accountability: It’s a heavy word that just feels uncomfortable. It’s like bad news: Nobody likes to give it, and nobody wants to receive it. Well, it’s time to move past those misguided perceptions. Accountability is NOT a four-letter word; it is now your new best friend, and I’m going to tell you why! In this session, you’ll learn how to get the receptionist to complete all the confirmation calls and ensure every new client shows up with records. You’ll understand why the new VA doesn’t come to work on time and why you’re repeatedly asking employees to finish their tasks. You’ll do so because you’ll recognize your hospital’s culture and the role you’ve played in holding others accountable. You’ll learn the seven steps of accountability and how to activate them. Once you do, you’ll stop worrying about whether people are doing their jobs, and you’ll have more time to do yours. Putting the Power into Empowerment: Simple Acts that Build Others Up
What is empowerment? It’s defined, in just ten words, as the authority or power given to someone to do something. That seems simple, doesn’t it? Hand over the power and let someone do something. While it sounds simple, it’s not that easy. Telling someone “you’re empowered” doesn’t change their behavior without you changing yours.
In this session, we’ll cover five simple acts that will give your team the confidence and security to step into their full potential so that they will truly own their responsibilities and are more likely to stay with you for the long haul. What’s more exciting is that when they’re empowered, so are you, with a freedom to take on new challenges, grow yourself, grow your business, or even take a vacation. It’s powerful, and it’s worth it. |
