Canine Parvovirus (CPV): Emerging Solutions for an Enduring Disease

This presentation will tackle one of the most persistent health challenges in animal shelters: Canine Parvovirus (CPV). Everyone learns that proactive and integrated husbandry, medical, and operational procedures can help manage CPV, but how do you implement these strategies when you’re too busy to even sit down for lunch? Join this presentation to refresh your knowledge about CPV, including how to mitigate real risk factors, what diagnostic tools to use and when to use them, and what prevention strategies are actually practical and effective. Attendees will walk away with promising updates about new treatment tools.

2:40 PM-3:40 PM

Managing Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease (CIRD) During Hard Times

From RVTs and veterinarians and beyond, everyone in the shelter has the power to have a big impact on animal health. Does it seem like animals keep getting sick no matter what you do, especially right now, with intake numbers climbing in many shelters? Does CIRD have to be status quo? Have you wondered what else you can do to get ahead of these vicious cycles? Join this presentation to walk away with tools and techniques that will lead to healthier animals.

Panel Discussion: Infectious Disease: Ask the Veterinarians with Brian DiGangi, DVM, MS, DABVP, and Rebecca Stuntebeck, DVM, ABVP

For this panel discussion, conference attendees are invited to bring any and all infectious disease-related questions to a group of three board-certified shelter medicine veterinarians. While the panelists will be available to answer questions, attendees are encouraged to jump in, connect with each other, and share their lived experiences.
