1:30 PM–2:30 PM

Active Allyship

You are likely hearing the phrase “getting comfortable being uncomfortable” more and more often. This phrase means that to help create real change, to expand and grow, to stand up for the oppressed and marginalized, and to remain relevant, we must invite and initiate tough conversations. We must speak up with radical candor. We must be active allies. And we must learn how to incorporate these important concepts into our culture and workflow. During this program, we will discuss the essential elements of allyship, including self-education, leveraging privilege and power, reaffirming that allyship centers on the underrepresented, and the power of committing fully.

2:40 PM–3:40 PM

Brave Spaces: Journey for Teams

A brave space is an inclusive environment where all team members feel they belong and actively participate. Establishing a brave space allows team members to express themselves and challenge one another in positive ways. This is important for a variety of reasons, including relevance. To be relevant to current and future team members, clients, and customers, we must create inclusive, brave spaces where all team members are invited to be active participants. Team leaders and individual contributors all have important roles to play in creating brave spaces. Through this interactive session, attendees will have the opportunity to understand what a brave space is, why they are important, what role each of us plays in creating them, and the five key ingredients to create a brave space in your workplace.

4:15 PM–5:30 PM

Individual and Organizational Resiliency: The Why, What, and How

One could argue that individual and organizational resilience would be less necessary if less adversity existed. The reality is that change is constant. Because of this, unanticipated circumstances will inevitably arise, and the ability to successfully manage unanticipated circumstances is a vital skill. Based on the work of Vakilzadeh, Hasse, and others, the building blocks of organizational resilience can be grouped by the stages of anticipation, coping, and adaptation. How organizations perform against these building blocks determines their success at managing and learning from adversity. With evidence-based insights on building resilience, this interactive session will provide practical tools to communicate boldly, stay resilient, deepen team member connections, and lay the foundation for lasting success. Let’s not just survive—let’s thrive!
