Dr. Ken Pawlowski graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, after which he went to work for a relatively new and small practice called VetSmart, which would later become Banfield. After six years as an associate, Dr. Pawlowski and his wife Kristi opened a Banfield hospital in Folsom, California and, five years later, a second one in Lincoln, California. Dr. Pawlowski and Kristi opened Insight Veterinary Wellness Center in El Dorado Hills, California in 2020. Dr. Pawlowski has served as the CVMA President and on the CVMA Board of Governors, House of Delegates, and numerous committees and task forces. He has also served on the AVMA’s Political Action Committee board and Council of Biologic and Therapeutic Agents.

Dane Whitaker, DVM, MPVM
Dr. Dane Whitaker has been practicing veterinary medicine in the San Francisco area for over 25 years. He completed his veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 1994 and his Masters in Preventive Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis in 2017. He currently provides small animal clinical relief services across central California, as well as serves as an associate veterinarian at the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, California. Dr. Whitaker is a member of the Pride Veterinary Medical Community Board of Directors and sits on the California Veterinary Medical Association’s inaugural Inclusion & Diversity Committee.

Jessica Sieferman
Jessica Sieferman was appointed as the California Veterinary Medical Board’s (CVMB) Executive Officer on July 2, 2018. Ms. Sieferman oversees all aspects of the CVMB, including examinations, licensure, and enforcement of the Veterinary Medicine Practice Act. She has nearly 20 years of experience working within the Department of Consumer Affairs, where she gained a comprehensive grasp of the legislative and regulatory processes.

Harriet Flynn, MVB, DACVAA
Dr. Harriet Flynn earned her veterinary degree from University College Dublin in 2017. From there, Dr. Flynn went into a 12-month equine surgical internship at Harvard University Equine Medical Institute, and then decided to pursue a career in anesthesia. She completed a three-year veterinary anesthesia and critical patient care residency at the University Of California, Davis and obtained board certification in 2021. She currently serves as an assistant professor of surgical and radiological sciences at UC Davis.
