Dr. Cristie Kamiya is Chief of Shelter Medicine at Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV), where she oversees veterinary services. She is residency-trained in shelter medicine practice and in 2017 led HSSV to be the first shelter in the country to complete the Association of Shelter Veterinarians’ Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters. In her free time, Dr. Kamiya enjoys traveling with organizations that provide veterinary support in under-served areas in the United States and internationally.

Most importantly, this session will showcase that spectrum of care can be done while still practicing high quality medicine and maintaining standard of care.
