Dr. Heather Barron is a licensed wildlife and sea turtle rehabilitator with over 25 years of experience in researching, practicing, and teaching special species medicine. She received residency training in wildlife/special species medicine and was later tenured faculty at the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Barron obtained international experience as a professor and the department head of clinical medicine at St. Matthew’s University, School of Veterinary Medicine in the Cayman Islands, where she was also the veterinarian for the Cayman Turtle Farm and Cayman Wildlife Rescue. She then moved to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW), where she served as the Medical and Research Director for over a decade. Dr. Barron currently serves as the Chief Science Officer and Lead Veterinarian at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Florida.
