Dr. Stephen Jones, a native of Ireland, graduated with honors from University College Dublin. He completed internships in Florida, followed by a combined small animal surgery residency and MS at the University of Florida. After serving as an assistant professor of small animal orthopedics at The Ohio State University, Dr. Jones worked in Park City, Utah before joining Omega Veterinary Group in San Mateo, California.

Bruce Wagman, JD
Since 1992, Bruce Wagman has been using his legal degree to protect and save animals and assist those who care for them—from individuals to the largest international animal welfare groups. His experience in animal law is unparalleled. Bruce runs the San Francisco SPCA’s Shelter Policy and Legal Services program, which provides pro bono legal services to over 100 shelters and rescues in California and engages in policy work and projects aimed at increasing access to veterinary care around the state.
Cynthia Karsten, DVM, DABVP (Shelter Medicine Practice)
Dr. Cynthia Karsten serves as an outreach veterinarian with the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program, where she mentors students, interns, and residents while supporting shelter medical staff and leadership. Dr. Karsten graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and completed both a shelter medicine internship at Colorado State University and residency at UC Davis.
Caleb Hudson, DVM, MS, DACVS (Small Animal)
Dr. Caleb Hudson attended veterinary school at the University of Missouri. After graduation, he completed an internship and a small animal surgery residency at the University of Florida. In 2013, Dr. Hudson moved to Houston, Texas and spent the next 12 years working at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists and Nexus Veterinary Specialists. In 2025, Dr. Hudson joined Omega Veterinary Group in San Mateo, California, where he is currently employed as an orthopedic surgeon.
Kielyn Scott, DVM
After earning her DVM degree at Kansas State University, Dr. Kielyn Scott moved to Raleigh, North Carolina for an emergency internship and emergency and critical care residency. After a few years in practice, Dr. Scott decided to pursue further education in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine to try to find other ways to help her patients.
Miranda Sadar, DVM, DACZM
Dr. Miranda Sadar is a graduate of the Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. After graduation, she completed a one-year clinical internship in zoological, zoological companion animal, and wildlife medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Tomo Wiggans, DVM, MEng, DACVO
Dr. Tomo Wiggans attended Cornell University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 2001 followed by a Master of Engineering in 2002. He worked as an engineer for several years before changing course to pursue veterinary medicine.
Elizabeth Giuliano, DVM, MS, DACVO
Dr. Elizabeth Giuliano received her DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, after which she completed a small animal rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. In 1998, she returned to the University of Wisconsin-Madison to complete a comparative ocular pathology fellowship.
Phil Richmond, DVM, CAPP, CPHSA, CCFP
Dr. Phil Richmond is a practicing veterinarian and the founder/CEO of Flourishing Phoenix Veterinary Consultants, LLC. He holds multiple certifications in applied positive psychology, appreciative inquiry, workplace wellbeing, psychological health and safety, trauma-informed workplaces, resilience training, behavior change, and suicide prevention. Dr. Richmond has been awarded the Blue Buffalo Together for Pets Award, FVMA Veterinarian of the Year, the Uncharted Veterinary Community Founder’s Award, and was one of three finalists for the 2024 U.S. Bright Minds Veterinary Wellness Champion.
Olivia Petritz, DVM, DACZM
Dr. Olivia Petritz completed her undergraduate and veterinary degree at Purdue University in Indiana. Following graduation, she completed both a small animal internship and an exotics/zoo internship in specialty private practices. Dr. Petritz completed an ACZM residency at UC Davis in companion exotics and zoo medicine, and achieved board certification in November of 2013.
