We will also discuss confirmatory testing, which can be used in some cases to monitor the response of the patient to therapy. Common Feline Cytologic Diagnoses
This lecture will focus on our feline friends and the most common diagnoses that are made with cytologic examination in them. This topic encompasses both superficial and internal organ cytology as many aspirates in cats can be obtained using ultrasound guidance or through palpation.

The Feline Blood Smear Examination
Examination of peripheral blood smears in your clinic gives you the opportunity to evaluate the patient for leukocyte and erythrocyte morphology, which may impact your differential diagnosis list or guide additional testing in the initial phase of treatment for the presenting complaint. We will go through normal feline leukocyte and erythrocyte morphology, platelet morphology, and examples of abnormals.
